A Patchwork of Quilts assembled by Ruth Ann Carathers and others from the 2006 Hickman County Quilt Show has been published.  Orders may be placed at the Hickman County Historical Society.  Or, you may purchase the book directly from the online publisher (Click Here to Order). The 2006 Quilt Show featured 189 quilts from Hickman County quilt owners.  Fifty-seven quilts were Friendship Quilts many of which were made in the 1930's and '40s by Home Demonstration Clubs in our rural communities.  The remaining quilts are Family Quilts.  Many of these treasures have been passed down in families for generations.

The quilt book, A Patchwork of Quilts, describes the history and ownership of the quilts from the show.  The names of the contributers for each of the Friendship Quilts are listed and contained in a comprehensive index.

The front cover of the book displays the quilt, A Patchwork of Hickman County, created in 1986 for the Tennessee Bicentennial celebration.  Sixty-three quilters from Hickman County made squares for the quilt to celebrate their communities.

The back cover of the book is a composite image of the quilts from the 2006 quilt show.
