Music City's Backyard PDF Print E-mail

What was the magic spark Sarah Ophelia Colley felt growing up here that she breathed into Minnie Pearl? Nothing but goodness!

It's these same 'good things' we want to share with you'll.  Do come and visit, for you know you are welcome, welcome home.

Being in the backyard of Music City, USA, you'd expect some close relationships with the entertainment area of Nashville, and you'd be right. Country music is native to the area.

There's other music too.  Try local artist Stan "The Man" Hedges

Historic Gordon House There's history here too, and lots of it. Some of it goes back to the pioneer days of Lewis and Clark and others.  Nashville is an area rich in culture, history, schools, and southern traditions.  Many of the surrounding towns have quality attractions, too.

What's Close By

We're blessed with some of the finest trees and fresh, running water anywhere.  Mostly undiscovered, we're only a short distance from Nashville but a we're a world apart.

Nashville--Music City--and all its attractions is about an hour's drive up the road.  Don't forget the Grand Ole Opry!

Columbia with its plantation homes, Mule Day, and President James K. Polk's House is a half-hour's drive.

Dickson with its Renaissance Center is just across Interstate 40.

Loretta Lynn's ranch and home sits at our northwest corner on the way to Kentucky Lake and Land Between the Lakes

The Amish of Lawrence County are less than an hour's drive south although we have our own strong Mennonite influences at the Cane Creek Store.

The Meriwether Lewis Park and Monument (remember Lewis and Clark?) is just a few minutes south on the Natchez Trace Parkway with its spectacular scenic views over the Duck River valley.

Franklin, a real historic town with the huge Cool Springs Galleria shopping mall is within an hour's drive.

Graceland, of course, is an easy day's trip down the road, in Memphis.
