We're a short drive from Nashville, Tennessee--Hickman County and Centerville, Tennessee. We're really in the middle of Music City's backyard. We gave birth to and raised stars like Minnie Pearl who helped to create the music and entertainment industry in Nashville, Tennessee.
To really understand Music City, come see us. Our big backyard is filled with fun things to do and special places to see. Here, your imagination can be free; you can be yourself...find yourself.
What You'll Enjoy Here
Peace and Quiet. Some say we're laid-back; we're just off the beaten path--so you can relax--a nice place for you to get away to. Come visit and enjoy our southern hospitality.
Southern Cooking. Slow cooking, lots of vegetables, careful seasoning, and served with southern hospitality--that's our specialty.
History. We're loaded with history and old culture. If you visit our area, you'll see, smell, and hear our history as it still gets lived today. History will become real, and you'll connect with the past to better understand today.
Music. Music is a way of life here; someone's always picking, playing, writing, or singing a song.
In the summer, we'll have "Music on the Square" every Saturday evening free of charge. Even our local Hardee's Restaurant features live music on Friday nights. Two of our premier groups are the Jake Leg Stompers and Wherry Road. And of course, Opry music is home here.
The Arts. One of our treasures is the captivating Wood and Strings Theatre, a tremendously successful puppet theatre that performs nationally. Woody Woodruff, 2005 Cowboy Poet of the Year is one of our own. And, we have unheralded local artists who paint, carve, quilt, and create works of art mostly for the fun of it.
Wildlife. Deep hollows and steep limestone bluffs produce more wildflowers, deer, turkeys, and other wildlife than you can imagine.
Small Farms. Your Heritage. Our many small cattle farms provide scenic relief from the harried life of our urban neighbors.
