FRIDAY - JULY 4TH 

Bicentennial Weekend events at River Park in Centerville begin at 5:45 on Friday, July 4th.  Grab some food from concession stand, enjoy Bicentennial birthday cake & ice cream.

Live Music provided by Damon Wherry & the Grinder's Switch Radio Hour band; Dell Etheridge & Tyme Zone; Rick Hines; and Kenny Durham.

Wood & Strings Puppet theatre's Walkabouts will also be there.

Sundown - Premier Pyrotechnics, Inc. will light up the sky.

SATURDAY - JULY 5TH

Beginning at 11:00 am to 6pm - Food Vendors selling "a taste of the country" fried chicken and catfish, white beans, hot-water cakes, turnip greens, cornbread, rib-eye steak sandwiches, polish sausages, hamburgers, hot dogs and much more.

Watermelon seed spitting contest for children 6-9- Noon $1 fee; at 1pm for children 10-14 - $2 fee; at 2pm for 15 and older - $3 fee - Prizes will be given.

Demonstrations quilting and bonnet making; blacksmith will be at work and selling his art.  Civil War re-enactors will provide living history of life 1861 - 1865.  Fashion show at 1pm featuring Cordelia W. Moore Confederate Bells in the clothing of that time.

Auction for the 1st 10 numbered Bicentennial wooden nickels & a hula hoop contest for any age.

Checkers at 2pm - prize for the "last checker standing".  Covered wagon rides.

SUNDAY - JULY 6TH

Lift Every Voice and Sing - a community gospel singing on the Centerville Square beginning at 7pm.  Daniel Bey, Summer Boyd, Fred Chunn, David Dansby, William Grimes, Stan "The Man" Hedges, Sonya Plunkett, Melba Scates, Anita Jo Walters, Edwinter Myles, The Columbia Ave. Church of God choir and CommUnity Choir will sing.  The audience will be invited to join before the evening closer.
